Air reciprocating units are often the components of various machines and mechanisms in food engineering. Leaf-type valves are used during completing of high-speed low emission low power compressor and expansion reciprocating units. Repeatedly bearing heavy loads, the valve plate is the most hardworking component which determines performance reliability of the whole reciprocating unit. In the plate material under the influence of repeated loads the accumulation of irreversible mechanical changes takes place that causes fatigue failure of the plate.
