Mathematical modeling of non-Newtonian fluid flow in an
extruder channel, extraction included
Phosphatide concentrate (vegetable lecithin) processing consists in direct
extraction of vegetable phospholipids produced by sun flower seeds processing.
When extrusion agglomeration was developed to remove solvent from phosphatide
concentrate saturated with acetone after extraction refining, the flow of non-
Newtonian fluid in extruder channels was modeled, high grade acetone (GOST 2768-
84) being used as a solvent. The paper presents analytical solution of differential
equations that describe the axial flow of non-Newtonian fluid in the channel of single
screw extruder combined with extractor.
